We're seeking a backend engineer with deep expertise in data-intensive systems to build the enterprise knowledge graph, semantic search, and real-time data ingestion pipelines.
This role focuses on Go services that process millions of documents, power hybrid search, and maintain graph relationships across enterprise data sources.
About the Role
This role focuses on building the enterprise knowledge graph, semantic search, and real-time data ingestion pipelines.
Responsibilities
4+ years of proven work experience building production data-intensive backend systems
Production delivery of data pipelines, search systems, or graph databases at scale
Any-to-Go migration experience — nice to have: must have rewritten or ported at least one production service from Python/Node/Java to Go
Capable of building features end to end: requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, observability
Agentic development practitioner — uses AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) daily as a development multiplier
Required Skills
Go Programming
Go — must code professionally (3+ years production)
Table-driven tests, benchmarking, pprof profiling
Graph Databases
DGraph or Neo4j — production experience with at least one, OR
Strong graph theory background (BFS/DFS, shortest path, centrality, PageRank)
Schema design for relationship-heavy domains (social graphs, knowledge graphs, org charts)
Query optimization (DQL/Cypher performance, index strategies)
Search Engines
Vespa, Elasticsearch, or Solr — production experience with at least one
Hybrid search with embeddings preferred (BM25 + vector search, reranking)
NATS JetStream, Kafka, or equivalent — production experience
At-least-once, exactly-once delivery semantics
APIs & Testing
gRPC / ConnectRPC with protobuf — must be a native workflow, not just REST
Integration tests with real dependencies (not mocks)
88%+ coverage discipline enforced in CI
Python — must read fluently (async, Pydantic, FastAPI)
Required for migration work: ~28k lines of async Python to port to Go
Understanding of Python idioms to translate into idiomatic Go
