About The Job
Tether and its affiliated entities (e.g., Bitfinex) are searching for an organized self-starter to join our Regulatory and Licensing team.
The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to the crypto-asset industry in Argentina, and will be excited to apply their regulatory experience in a dynamic business environment.
The role reports directly to the Head of Regulatory Affairs & Licensing – Latin America and serves as the primary point of contact for regulatory and licensing matters within Argentina.
It is a senior position for professionals with proven experience engaging with financial regulators, supervisory authorities, or policy-making bodies.
The adecuado candidate combines strategic insight with hands-on execution, demonstrates a diplomatic, solutions-oriented approach in navigating complex regulatory environments, and proactively anticipates regulatory changes to adapt strategies.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute regulatory strategies for regulatory and licensing matters within Argentina, aligning with Tether's wider Latin American objectives.
Advocate and collaborate with regulatory agencies, industry bodies, and policymakers to shape the regulatory landscape for stablecoin issuers.
Analyze local regulatory proposals, advise the business on regulatory risks and opportunities, and produce concise policy briefs for senior management.
Contribute to the licensing approval process, preparing and coordinating documentation and responses to regulatory inquiries.




Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., expansion, legal, compliance, finance) to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and resolve emerging regulatory challenges.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years regulatory experience within the financial services or crypto-asset industry.
Preferred 5–8 years regulatory experience within financial services, fintech, or crypto-asset industries.
Ability to apply knowledge of key regulatory frameworks in Argentina strategically and operationally and provide direction to resolve complex regulatory issues.
Demonstrated diplomatic skills and ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
Expertise in preparing regulatory analysis and executing interactions with regulatory authorities, including submission of regulatory consultation responses.
Strong experience working with or within regulatory authorities (e.g., central banks, financial supervisory agencies, ministries of finance).
Demonstrated ability to draft or contribute to public policy responses, regulatory filings, or industry position papers.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in public speaking and representing companies in regulatory discussions.
Strong team player, willing to engage with key stakeholders both within and outside the company, capable of working collaboratively and independently.
Fluency in English and native proficiency in the local language of Argentina.
University degree.
Advanced degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, or a related field preferred.
