Position Summary
Serves as a Sr. Financial Analyst on the Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis team, providing centralized and consolidated reporting supporting the IT organization. The position works closely with senior leadership and reports to the Manager FP&A.; Key responsibilities include producing financial and business analysis, interpreting and investigating data, and ensuring accurate reporting within established timelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Finance Manager in providing ongoing financial support and partnership to the IT team, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Partner with accounting, finance, and procurement teams on billing initiatives.
- Distribute and assist in interpreting key financial reports to respective cost center owners.
- Build relationships, including influencing and rapport skills.
- Communicate effectively at all organization levels.
- Assist with ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
- Prepare monthly intercompany account reconciliations and required journal entries; ensure invoices are sent to intercompany partners.
- Perform analysis of expenses to ensure accurate coding, adequacy of accruals, and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Facilitate positive relationships with General Ledger team members, including international accounting personnel, and participate in cross‑functional teams as needed.
- Work closely with the manager to track budgets and support presentations to Executive Leadership teams.
- Assist with loading annual budget and quarterly forecast into Oracle.
- Handle special projects as assigned, emphasizing attention to detail.
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Progressive accounting experience, preferably within the CRO or pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience working in an internationally oriented organization and knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; Oracle Financial experience preferred.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills with a team‑oriented approach.
- Cooperative and collaborative working style with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies.
- Diplomatic issue‑resolution skills.
- Strong work ethic, professional attitude, reliable, and strong problem‑solving, research, and data analysis skills.
- Independent work capability with minimal daily direction to accomplish objectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and voicemail.
- Strong written and spoken English.
Physical Requirements
Position requires occasional movement within the office, handling items of 10–35 pounds, operating a computer and other office equipment, perceiving and assessing written materials, and frequent communication with colleagues.
Work Environment
Professional office environment with standard equipment (computers, phones, printers, photocopiers). Noise level is low. Primarily sedentary.
