We're seeking a Senior Java Developer, is a problem solver that leverages technology to solve difficult problems at scale.

They work with others across the business to understand customer needs and develop high value solutions.

They are accountable for the design and implementation of solutions that meet software functional and non-functional requirements and adhere to established development standards.

This role challenges its owner to work quickly and effectively as a team leader, sharing technical knowledge and leading the team to build and deploy high quality software that satisfies our customers.

The Work You'll Do

n· Competent in SDLC and an active participant in all major activities (Planning, Stand Up, Story Time, etc.)n

· Develop skills using TDD and CI practices

n

· Function competently as an individual contributor, completing relatively small tasks independently

n

· Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Development Managers, Quality Assurance, Experience Design, and other technical staff to refine requirements and designs

n

· Participate on cross functional teams to deliver solutions from the point of inception through customer delivery

n

· Improve processes, standards and practices

n

· Work as a team member and with more senior developers on complex stories & tasks

n

· Pair program effectively with more junior & senior developers

n





· Develop programs consistent with Sovos coding standards & conventions

n

· Build skill in at least one specific technical expertise (Database, SAP, Web Development, etc.)

n

· Competent in at least one Sovos application

n

· Find and update relevant documentation when developing

n

· Able to triage and resolve simple engineering escalations

n

· Work with other team members to solve complex problems

n

· Capable of troubleshooting issues & bugs within their application of expertise

n

· Mentor less experienced members of our team

n

· Develop and enhance the user experience of our applications

n

· Contribute to our component library with well-crafted components that can be used by the entire development team, as well as add to our unit test suite (Karma and Jasmine based)

n

More specifically, you will:

n

· Collaborate in a fast-paced agile environment under tight deadlines to “ship” new releases each sprint

n

· Take part in an active culture of learning by exploring new technologies, participating in knowledge shares, attending conferences, and collaborating with local developer bootcamps

n

What We Need From You

n

n
- 8+ years of proven success in software engineering using object-oriented programming and web application technology
n
- 5+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot Microservices




n
- Version control using Git/Git

Hub and working knowledge of IIS configuration
n
- Experience developing software in Azure is a plus
n
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and software quality across the development lifecycle
n
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, fully remote environment
n
- Comfort working within an Agile development process
n
