The opportunity
Risk Management Services have been established in GDS Poland more than 10 years ago as a part of the global process and it is growing and developing rapidly. This role will be part of the largest sub-service function, , Independence within Risk Management Services (RMS) responsible for assisting EY professionals to maintain auditor objectivity by identifying and mitigating any potential conflicts of interest that could compromise an auditor's independence.
Your key responsibilities
As a part of our Team:
- Develop & maintain subject matter expertise in personal independence processes and policies, thereby enabling EY professionals to uphold their Independence compliance requirements.
- Stay updated on relevant regulatory policies like EYG and local country policies and industry best practices related to auditor independence.
- Conduct thorough secondary research using a wide range of internal and external databases to support personal independence monitoring processes.
- Continuously develop and refine technical knowledge in Independence processes to become a recognized subject matter expert within the team.
- Lead process trainings for team members to ensure consistent understanding and application of EY General & Personal Independence policies.
- Interact at the executive level with client/engagement team members and Risk Management personnel
- Build knowledge on the firm's structure, business strategies, service lines, and people
- Manage the process to completion within agreed timelines and in accordance with regulatory rules
- Provide recommendations to continuously improve the processes
- Handling day-to-day administrative tasks, monthly KPIs and counsellor responsibilities
- Manage the team of around 15 members in matter individual corporate goals are set and successful
- Engage in reporting activities to support internal and external stakeholder’s requirements.
- Establish and monitor the team's key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Contribute to strategic projects/initiatives to drive success & growth within Global EY landscape.
Skills and attributes for success
- You are detail oriented and eager to analyze and solve complex process cases
- You should have good awareness of overall business and economic environment
- Subject matter expertise on Independence Processes and Policies specially on Personal Independence.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Masters/post-graduate degree (preferably in Finance) from a reputed institute.
- At least 5-7 years of professional experience, out of which minimum 4-5 years’ experience should have: Compliance or research functions in Big 4 or other professional service organizations Managing reasonably mid-size teams (5-10 team members) Experience in Risk Management/ Independence would be preferred
- Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, and communication (both verbal and written) skills in English
- Experience in performing external research and exposure to performing data analysis and interpretation of output.
- You are highly-motivated with ability to work on multiple projects at a time, at the same time handling queries from different teams
- You have exceptional and proven customer service skills, including responsiveness and commitment to quality
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Working knowledge of type of financial instruments, deposit accounts, loans, insurance etc.

An ideal candidate would have prior people management/team handling experience in risk management role. Good knowledge of global markets and economy is an advantage.
