What We Can Achieve Together
The Operations Specialist for the Argentina and Southern Andes Business Units is responsible for coordinating a team that delivers administrative support to the TNC staff located throughout Argentina and Chile.
The Operations Specialist supervises the operations team, guiding them to assure strong service delivery to BU teams and rapid progress on projects based on extensive knowledge of internal policies and procedures.
They interpret guidelines and analyze information to achieve results, improve workflow, and solve problems.
They provide recommendations and targeted training related to the areas under management.
This role supports all levels of staff on HR issues, working closely with the Regional HR Manager and HR team.
Additionally, they work closely with all functional areas within the region, such as Legal and IT, and maintain relationships with external accountants and attorneys.
The Operations Specialist must be comfortable working with ERP systems and the resources utilized for the functional activity and will manage confidential information.
They support the Director of Finance and Operations in adapting processes and implementing recommended practices to improve effectiveness.
The Operations Specialist will manage one or more administrative support staff based in different countries.

Analytical and holistic view: Have an organizational vision followed by actions in other areas of the business.
Be a team-building facilitator, with a view of the whole, communicating between managers and decision-makers, leading for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in congruence with all departments and TNC's code of conduct.
Responsibilities & Scope

Works toward meeting the strategic priorities of the program by developing and coordinating tactics for approved plans and completing day-to-day tasks.
Ensures programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant field.
Acts independently within broad program goals to prioritize tasks in the absence of specific instructions and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems.
Implements and manages new initiatives that will ensure department and organization-wide goals and strategies are achieved.
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
Demonstrates sensitivity in handling confidential information.
Ensures compliance with Conservancy policies and procedures, and external (donor/legal/IRS) requirements.
Decisions may bind the organization financially or legally.
Manages projects with several variables – sets realistic deadlines, manages a timeline, and ensures accountability.
May participate in complex negotiations.
Administers the HR transactions for the Argentina and Southern Andes Business Units, partnering with HR, WO, HROS and local management.
Supports the HR annual processes such as the merit review, performance partnerships, etc.
Ensures new staff understand the Business Unit and Region organizational structures, including contacts for onboarding and other contacts in Finance, IT, Legal, Contracts.
Teams with Finance staff to support annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation.
Monitors BU staff timesheet completion in order to avoid financial risks.
Manages BU Staff Delegations of Authority in coordination with Legal.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years related experience or equivalent combination.
Experience coordinating projects.
Experience working across departments.
Fluency in Spanish and English.
Strong organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Supervisory experience including setting objectives, managing performance, and conflict resolution.
Desired Qualifications
Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated.
Non-profit work experience considered a "plus".
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
