THE ROLE
We're seeking a seasoned
Website Support & Development Manager
to lead a small team of senior developers and technical support specialists. You'll balance strategic planning and high-level oversight with hands-on involvement in time-sensitive, client-driven WordPress requests.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
TEAM LEADERSHIP & MENTORSHIP
- Manage and mentor a dedicated team of web developers and support specialists.
- Assign and prioritize tasks, track progress, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
RAPID RESPONSE & TECHNICAL OVERSIGHT
- Serve as the escalation point for urgent WordPress updates (bug fixes, plugin tweaks, content changes).
- Directly dive into code or configuration as needed to meet tight deadlines.
- Oversee the resolution of client support tickets with personalized, accurate communication.
PROJECT COORDINATION & QA
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of support requests from intake to client sign-off.
- Maintain rigorous testing standards to ensure performance and design benchmarks are met.
- Collaborate with the Design Director to ensure technical tasks align with creative strategy, brand standards, and user experience goals.
CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Act as the primary technical liaison for high-value tourism clients.
- Provide clear, timely updates and set realistic expectations for rapid-turnaround tasks.
- Translate complex technical details into lay terms and proactively recommend enhancements.
- Provide regular reporting outlining progress, resolutions, and next steps to ensure transparency and client confidence.
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
PROVEN LEADERSHIP:
3+ years managing senior technical teams with d
emonstrated ability to delegate effectively and mentor experienced professionals.
WORDPRESS EXPERTISE:
Hands-on experience with themes, plugin conflicts, and applying security/maintenance updates.
Comfortable diving into PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS for rapid-fire fixes.
COMMUNICATION EXCELLENCE:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to build trust with non-technical stakeholders.
CLIENT FACING SKILLS:
Outstanding communicator; adept at building trust and clarity with non-technical stakeholders. Exceptional customer-service mindset—rapid response times and a "get it done" attitude.
TECHNICAL & ORGANIZATIONAL AGILITY:
Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Zendesk) and project-management methodologies (Agile/Scrum). Strong problem-solving aptitude under pressure; ability to pivot between strategic planning and hands-on troubleshooting.
METICULOUS DETAIL:
Obsessive about QA, documentation, and version control.
Proactive in identifying potential issues before they impact clients.
BONUS POINTS FOR
- Background in SEO best practices and performance tools (GTmetrix/Lighthouse).
- Experience with headless WordPress or decoupled CMS architectures.
- Experience in the tourism and hospitality industry.
