SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

State the overall function or purpose of the job.

Responsible for the development and implementation of advocacy objectives to support patients in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay & Paraguay. As primary point of contact manages the relationships with the patient advocacy groups and ensure the perspective of the community is reflected in our programs. Provide representation to the patient communities on behalf of BioMarin and in support of business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

List the major responsibilities of the job.

Collaborate with patient advocacy groups (PAGs) on disease awareness and disease state educational materials

Support PAGs' development and capability building





Support evidence-based advocacy in Access efforts (e.g. supporting data generation by PAGs to highlight the unmet patient need)

Support PAGs in their advocacy efforts with governments and rare disease policy shaping

Support PAGs in their efforts to better collaborate with clinical centers

(including support in recruitment of clinical trials)

Co-creating the patient - centric resources to support patients and families

Organize BioMarin led PAG events, and elevate patient stories

Facilitate regional collaboration between PAGs as appropriate

Gather patient insights to better address patient and business needs

Ensure deep understanding of PAG mindset, mission, and objectives to ensure professionalization and capacity building.





Establish and maintain long-term relationships with PAGs and address gaps or misunderstandings toward productive collaboration.

Provide systems support including guidance on applications such as E-grants, etc.

Support the PSP via internal collaboration with PSP lead.

Develop models and materials to support disease state and other patient community educational materials.

Provide visibility to BioMarin management on PAGs status, initiatives and projects.

Manage and guarantee adherence to corporate policies and the Code of Conduct.

Plan and execute donations according to the allocated budget.

Collaborate with other internal areas to support reimbursement programs.

Evaluate and adjust the strategy on each territory to solve local problems.

Manage special cases with Associations - doctors

Manage end follow-up activities for patients.

SCOPE

Quantify the scope or impact of the job in terms of revenue, expenses,



capital investment, headcount, etc.

Through the relationship with PAGs & PSP, it guarantees that the activities developed for them will align with the compliance and Code of Conduct, to preserve the integrity and image of BioMarin.

Contribute together with Sales OP, Marketing, Financial and Medical areas to an appropriate support on the disease journey of patients.

Manage the budget for donations.

EDUCATION

State both the minimum and the preferred educational attainment (or equivalent experience), and describe essential and desired subject matter, certifications, special training, etc.

Bachelor's degree in administration, communication, and related health areas.

English proficiency is required.

EXPERIENCE





State both the minimum and the preferred number of years of relevant experience and describe the essential functions of the job.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare. In-house experience at a pharmaceutical/biotechnology organization strongly preferred.

Demonstrated effectiveness operating in complex organizational and regulatory environments.

Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.

Proven ability to work with all levels of management and the general workforce.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with others in addressing complex issues.

Strong persuasive skills and sound business judgment.

Motivated,



self-starter with ability to appropriately prioritize issues and allocate resources and be capable of working alone and making sound decisions.

Experience with regional travel and addressing specific needs of PAGs via in-person engagements
