Buscamos un profesional para desempeñar actividades relacionadas con impuestos, incluyendo contabilidad de efectos fiscales y procedimientos de cumplimiento tributario, de acuerdo con los requisitos legales locales. La posición está basada en Buenos Aires, con horario de oficina estándar. Reportando al Gerente de Impuestos, serás responsable de:
- Garantizar el cumplimiento de la Política Fiscal de Rio Tinto en las jurisdicciones correspondientes.
- Preparar papeles de trabajo y memorandos técnicos que respalden la contabilidad fiscal y las declaraciones tributarias.
- Elaborar y modificar declaraciones de impuestos, y gestionar la correspondencia con autoridades fiscales bajo la dirección del Gerente de Impuestos.
- Calcular y reportar pagos de anticipos fiscales, apoyando las divulgaciones de Transparencia Fiscal del grupo.
- Realizar cálculos de provisión fiscal, incluyendo impuestos corrientes y diferidos, y sus asientos contables.
- Preparar o revisar los cálculos mensuales de impuestos retenidos y sus remesas, en coordinación con Tesorería.
- Apoyar auditorías fiscales mediante análisis técnicos y recopilación de documentación.
- Colaborar en actividades de cumplimiento relacionadas con el Pilar 2.
- Preparar provisiones fiscales semestrales y anuales conforme a IFRS, incluyendo análisis de posiciones fiscales inciertas, revelaciones de impuestos diferidos,
análisis de recuperación de activos fiscales, asientos contables y conciliaciones.
- Apoyar auditorías financieras estatutarias y requisitos de Sarbanes-Oxley relacionados con impuestos y transparencia fiscal.
- Contribuir a proyecciones fiscales de corto y largo plazo, incluyendo pagos estimados, reembolsos y gasto fiscal total.
- Identificar e implementar mejoras en procesos fiscales, con foco en reportes y cumplimiento.

- Experiencia en estudios contables o en la industria — deseable.
- Dominio fluido de español e inglés (oral y escrito).
- Conocimiento del sector minero — será una ventaja.

About the role
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.
We are looking for a professional to perform tax-related activities, including tax effect accounting and compliance procedures, in accordance with local legal requirements. The position is based in Buenos Aires, with standard office hours. Reporting to the Tax Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Ensure compliance with Rio Tinto’s Tax Policy across relevant jurisdictions.
- Prepare workpapers and advisory memos to support tax accounting and filings.
- Draft and amend tax returns, and manage related correspondence with tax authorities under the Tax Manager’s guidance.
- Calculate and report tax instalments,
supporting group Tax Transparency disclosures.
- Perform return-to-provision calculations, including current and deferred tax entries.
- Prepare or review monthly withholding tax calculations and remittances, in coordination with Treasury.
- Support tax audits and reviews through technical analysis and documentation.
- Assist with Pillar 2 compliance activities.
- Prepare half-year and year-end tax provisions under IFRS, including uncertain tax positions, deferred tax disclosures, asset recovery analysis, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Support statutory audits and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation requirements related to tax.
- Contribute to short- and long-term tax forecasts, including estimated payments, refunds, and total tax expense.
- Identify and implement process improvements in tax reporting and compliance.
What you’ll bring to be considered for this role

You will be an inclusive leader, able to collaborate effectively across the organization, and bring the following skills and experience:
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation – required – and Master’s degree in Taxation – desirable.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS standard IAS 12 – desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in accounting firms or industry – desirable.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of the mining sector – advantageous.
