Partner with teams to deliver tax services to Ventures & Acquisitions and Client Engagements for the Market Unit. This includes but is not limited to: evaluating and efficiently structuring Client Engagements, Ventures & Acquisitions, addressing the impact of taxes across the entire deal lifecycle. This role will manage deals and work directly with client leadership teams and senior leadership in corporate functions (Finance, Legal, etc.) to ensure tax objectives related to Accenture’s corporate transactions are achieved.
In addition, supervise the manager responsible for Global Tax Estimator Tools and internal websites and communication channels. In managing the tools you and your director report will be a key interface with tax teams,
internal technology teams and pricing tools managers to ensure our global tax tools are accurate and up to date, which is critical for the
integrity of estimated tax costs on client engagements. This includes but is not limited to understanding and creating tax calculations in both the cloud along with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access, management of day-to-day interactions between the tax software and other Accenture forecasting solutions. The manager reporting to you will manage and work directly with client leadership teams and senior leadership in corporate functions (Finance, Legal, etc.) to ensure accuracy in Accenture deal team forecasts.
Accountabilities:
Tax Management:
- Direct all phases of tax deal review, due diligence, post-merger integration, planning and coordination.
- Assist Accenture in reaching its goals through identification and mitigation of tax risk and strategic tax planning, including operations and integration.
- Direct and oversee all phases of tax tools and tools directly involved and integrated with the tax tools.
Direct all phases of tax tools including design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Direct and oversee internal websites and communication channels
Develop Key Relationships:
- Work collaboratively with other Tax experts, Accenture project leadership teams and outside advisors to execute transactions, tax planning efforts and initiatives.
- Build relationships with senior leadership on deals and advise on all tax related matters associated to the deal.
- Work collaboratively with other Accenture teams such as Accenture’s pricing teams, Finance, Legal, HR, Treasury and Internal Procurement.
Demonstrate Thought Leadership:
- Work with other Tax experts and outside advisors to research the implications of tax laws and changes to tax regulations and advise Accenture on tax related issues.
- Remain up to date on current tax laws and practices and communicate any changes that may impact a deal to Accenture project leadership teams.
- Work with Country/Market Unit Tax Leads and outside advisors to research the implications of tax laws and changes to tax regulations and advise Accenture on tax related issues. Ensure global tax rates are kept updated.
- Identify and work on the build of enhancements to the tools, related computations, internal website updates, and related communications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assess tax risk for major deals and plan work/resources in a tax efficient manner
- Meet with client deal teams and client/vendor/target tax department personnel as appropriate to gather requisite information and negotiate tax aspects of major deals
- Review all applicable information (covering entity, individual/employment,
and transaction taxes issues)
- Coordinate with Tax experts globally for input from a local tax perspective, and interact with tax authorities when required
- Draft and negotiate contract/legal document terms
- Discuss with internal and external stakeholders recommended approach and risk mitigation/tax planning strategies
- Communicate and present tax findings, potential impact of such findings on structure and other related tax issues with senior leadership and project teams
- Prepare appropriate tax documentation
- Manage global tax tools and technology
- Review and validate compliance with internal Accenture tax policies and procedures.
- Utilize global tax tools and technology
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with our outside counsel and accounting firms as well as Accenture’s pricing teams, Finance, Legal, HR, Treasury and Procurement.
- Analyze financial models to determine tax impacts
- Ensure efficient tax cash flow management; maintain relationship with the Service Center and Treasury to manage funding and closing cash flow
- Manage strategic tax projects, including projects with other parts of the Tax group as necessary
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Accenture Global Tax Cost Estimation tools including the management of withholding tax rates, indirect tax rates, and country specific calculations.
- Coordinate the interactions between the Accenture Tax Cost Estimation tools and other Accenture pricing applications.
- Manage all applicable information (legal entity/country, individual/employment, and transaction taxes and immigration issues) for accuracy in Accenture Global Tax Cost Estimate tools
- Coordinate with Country/Market Unit Tax Leads globally for input from a local tax perspective, to effectively manage global withholding tax, indirect tax, and other tax rates as needed.
- Manage the new Tax Cost Estimator tool as the existing tools transition to the cloud.
- Leverage communications skills to work with technology teams and related deal pricing teams through Accenture to ensure the tax tools are both accurate and operating efficiently.
- Oversee the internal tax website and communication channels relating to any changes in law or any changes impacting the tools and potential tax cost impacts.
- Manage day to day global tax tools and tax technology related applications
- Oversee SARBOX controls related to transaction tax rates.
- Significant tax experience evaluating and efficiently structuring Client Engagements, Ventures & Acquisitions,
addressing the impact of taxes across the entire deal lifecycle.
- Experience ideally will include successful design and implementation of complex engagements and M&A; deals with a working knowledge of transaction tax
- Outstanding teaming and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Effectively present/communicate tax technical topics to client engagement and finance teams.
- Keen attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to gather, assimilate, analyze and summarize information on transactions from multiple sources. Specifically, read, analyze, and interpret tax and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Self-starter with the ability and confidence to work well in an unstructured, dynamic environment and ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks to completion

- Strong technical skills, including expert knowledge of Excel spreadsheet design and formulas to handle complex and large volumes of tax calculations. Create pivot tables, charts and other reporting interfaces in Excel using data from multiple sources.
- Good understanding of databases, SQL query language and Microsoft Access to organize large volumes of data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of transfer pricing
- Ability to understand and communicate in depth formulaic logic
