Position Overview:
Thomson Reuters is seeking a Manager, External Communications for South Latam
(Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Perú and Bolivia). Will be managing
media/crisis communications and public affairs. This position will be located
in Buenos Aires and will report to the Global Head of Business Communications,
Global Growth Organization.
The individual will work with the global and South Latam communications team,
creating and deploying mechanisms and standard operating procedures that help
align corporate messaging and media and other external relations across the
Thomson Reuters enterprise and support external communications for South
Main Responsibilities
·        Responsible for designing and executing on external communications
strategy to meet business objectives;
·        Leads and provides strategic direction on multiple projects
simultaneously. Interfaces with all levels of management;
·        Work within a global team structure and provide leadership in
developing and implementing external communications plans for wide range of
clients to support business and strategic goals;
Scope of the Role:
·        Promote key themes and strategic external communications priorities
and initiatives for South Latam business units, including but not limited to
print, online and broadcast outlets; write and distribute communications
materials (including media pitches, bylined articles, press releases, etc. as
·        Work across business units for drafting and/or editing internal
communication messages for multiple channels – website, emails, intranet,
blogs, etc.
·        Maximize promotional programs by working closely and collaboratively
with brand and marketing teams, and other business channels as appropriate.
·        Identify and pursue editorial opportunities, manage relationships
with journalists and other external influencers and opinion leaders, PR
support including assembling media lists, tracking coverage and producing
media coverage and metrics reports.
·        Manage the PR agency to drive and ensure the implementation of
external communications strategy.
Professional Skills and Experience:
·        Communications, Marketing or related Bachelor degree; Master’s degree
·        5-7 years of experience in external communications, preferable in
coordination with internal communications.
·        Extensive PR experience gained within an agency or in-house PR role;
financial, tax, legal or other professional service backgrounds are preferred.
·        Proven track record in delivering measurable PR results, at a high-
profile organization and in a global setting.
·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·        Demonstrates strong analytic and collaboration skills.
·        Detail-oriented individual with excellent follow through.
·        Ability to plan strategic objectives and goals.
·        Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information;
·        Ability to build relationships as a trusted advisor with
